Melodie Monrose - Top Newcomers Series

Morning!
So.. I realized today that i got side tracked and i haven't finished posting all of the portraits i painted for Models.com's Top Newcomers Spring 2011. Sorry for that! So picking up with the Posting, today's model is Melodie Monrose. As i've mentioned in previous posts before i draw anyone, i really like to get a sense of who they are, so i will try to find interviews or videos and i will look through tons of pictures, because i think all the knowledge and feeling for the person comes out subconsciously in the portrait. When i was researching Melodie, all the comments and articles i read commented about her being such a pleasant soft spoken girl. When i looked up pictures of her, she had a gorgeous elegance, and one of the most beautifully natural smiles i've seen. Which made me especially excited about painting her portrait. I really like how it turned out. It is one of my favorites in the series. What do you think?

Also, how was your weekend? Mine was really good. My brother and i spend some time working on writing our book. The story is coming along. I'm shooting for a year & a half from now to have the book written... hopefully, we can finish it by then... ;)

Maddie Kulicka - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

Hey friends!
How are you doing tonight? I am so tired!
But I'm definitely getting excited for New York!
Tonight's post is another from the series I did for
Models.com's Top Newcomers for Spring 2011.
The models name is Maddi Kulicka.
She was one of my favorite girls from the series.
She has freckles on her nose, so that's always good : )

Theres Alexandersson - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

Well, My Friends, I'm actually about to go to bed but i thought i would get a quick post up for you all :)

It is of Theres Alexandersson.
Theres Alexandersson has a super interesting look.
And this backstage photo at the McQueen show stood out to me in particular.
I like how it turned out. :)

Pinterest! Haah Not sure if i'm using it right but I started one thanks to my friend jenna.
Basically i created each of my boards as a sort of photo essay prompt and when i post on it i complete the prompt... if that makes sense?

Marcelia Freesz - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

So back when i was doing Top Newcomers Spring 2011 Series for Models.com
I had finished the whole series and right before the paintings were going to go up
I found out there was one more girl i needed to paint.
It was a girl from One Management named Marcelia Freesz.
So last minute, i started researching to find some images of her so i could paint her,
and all i can say is wow.
She has quite an amazing strong distinct look.
Very interesting eyes and head shape.
So this was a really fun picture to do,
and i like how the overall mood of it turned out.

Iris Egbers - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

So today has been a big time multi-tasking day...
I'm currently exporting a new video i edited for you all.
I'm excited to show you it.
Also about to leave for the Lumber yard,
Cause i'm finally going to build some large format shelves to keep my originals safe.
I seriously have been needing to do this for some time now.
I have thousands of Originals that have nowhere to go.
Also need to get some drawings done... big day, should be fun.

Julia Saner - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

Hello Hello!
Good morning and afternoon to some of you out there! ;)
How is your day going?
Today's painting i think is my favorite out of the Top Newcomers Spring 2011 Series i did for Models.com.
It's of a Julia Saner, who was the winner of Elite Model Look Switzerland 2009.
Julia has a great wholesome look.
When i was looking through pictures of her,
there was this one profile photo of her that really inspired me.
There was something so pensive about her expression it made me instantly know that was what i was going to paint.
All and all I really like how it turned out.

Daphne Groeneveld - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

Good morning!
How are yawl doing on this fine day!?
I'm off painting already this morning,
but i thought i would post this portrait from my series for Models.com - Top Newcomers Spring 2011.
The Painting is of Daphne Groeneveld.
I wasn't familiar with Daphne before this series,
and i have to say, she was one of my favorites to paint.
She is really interesting looking and has such distinct features...
Which is the perfect formula for me for painting.

Bambi Northwood-Blyth - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Really excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow.
Also my friend Ryan just introduced me to Hayao Miyazaki films,
so been watching those... so amazing!

So Today's painting is my favorite for my Top Newcomers Spring 2011.
It's of the lovely miss Bambi Northwood-Blyth.
I first heard of Bambi from my friend Cat's (knightcat) blog posts.
So needless to say i was really excited about painting her.
I don't know, I feel like there is something about the this painting that has a sort of Classic elegance to it.
It's actually my current computer back drop right now haha.

Britt Maren - Top Newcomers Spring 2011 Series

Hey Friends!
So the Painting today is from the Top Newcomers Spring 2011 Series i did for Models.com.
The Painting is Britt Maren.
Britt has a really interesting look, it's very versatile.
Basically before i did any of the paintings, i looked through about 100 pictures of each of the girls
so i could get a sense of their personality.
I found that usually helps me alot.
But Britt really has a wide range of looks.
When i saw this picture, i instantly wanted to paint it.
There was just something in the pose & expression that i really liked. :)

I'm currently working on improving my drawing and painting skills right now....
But hopefully i should have some new different stuff for you soon ;)

Arizona Muse - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

Well hello, my friends!
How was your weekend? Mine was amazing.
It was like the first weekend where I wasn't working through it in like 12 weeks!
yep yep... so the Top Model Newcomer of the day is Arizona Muse!
She was really fun to paint.
She has a real wholesome familiar look to her. She actually reminds me a lot of a childhood friend of mine,
which I think made it easy to paint her.

So when i was tasked with painting each of the Top Newcomers of Spring 2011 for models.com,
I went on a searching spree for references of Arizona.
For some reason, this one runway photo of her really stood out to me.
I think my favorite thing about this picture of her
is the confidence/determined expression on her face.
I used a mixture of pen, pencil, ink, & acrylic on this one. and pretty much the entire series.
What do you think of how it turned out?

The Top NewComers Spring 2011

Hey Friends!
Well they are finally up!
I painted the The Top NewComers S/S 11 for Models.com!
This has been one of the reasons i've been working so much!
I really Like how they turned out.
What do you think?
I will be Posting bigger versions of each of the paintings over the next two weeks.
It was fun painting these girls cause i pretty much hadn't seen most of them before.
